I have my endo appt today. I have a feeling I'll be lectured on my weight. I don't think I've lost anything since my last appt a few months ago... and pretty sure after the last few weeks, I've probably gained. I am going to refuse to be weighed as it'll only depress me. I am going to start phase 2 of SB tomorrow... I have to go shopping for food later on today. And back to working out regularly. I hate that I got out of that routine... I love doing it. But it is so easy to stop. :-( Please someone explain to me why I keep getting up early every day? I woke up at 730am this morning... what the hell? Then I am EXHAUSTED by 10pm and even took a nap yesterday for an hour... that is so unlike me.
My gosh, I am home! I feel like this was a longer trip than normal but I had fun. :) I am extremely overtired tonight though so this'll probably be short (ha). I spent $30 on a taxi from the beach house to the airport, which was utterly ridiculous. I don't think people even spend that much to go to O'Hare and all of our prices are inflated because it's Chicago. I could not believe it. Not to mention I basically sweat off 10 lbs because apparently minivans don't come equipped with a/c in the back seat? Urgh.My flight to Charlotte was uneventful. However, it was when I arrived in Charlotte that made me a little PO'ed. My flight connecting to Chicago didn't have a gate on the monitor. There were 2 other flights to O'Hare but neither of them were my flight number. I am already extremely tired... like barely able to keep my eyes open tired, thanks to getting up at 6am this morning for no reason. I found the gate for one of the Chicago flights leaving shortly and went up to the ticket counter to ask if they knew what was going on. They switched me to a United flight even though I was flying US Airways. What a royal pain. That gate was on the other side of the airport. I got something to eat and then went and sat at the gate for about 45 minutes before boarding. I think the ticket counter lady that helped me could see I was just done from the tears/tiredness in my eyes.I was already in a pissed off mood because of family things that had happened earlier in the day and everything with the airport just put the cherry on top. *sigh* The main point though is I am home safely, my parents and the rest of my family are home safely. So everything is well.I will say I am so intrigued with flying and how things work. My aunt used to be a flight attendant for American Airlines so I asked her a bunch of questions this week when we were visiting... including what the different tones mean... note to self: if you ever hear 4 tones, it means TROUBLE. :-P I hope to never hear 4, that's for sure. I also never knew how much the wing of the plane moved during flight. It is amazing to me. I want to sit in the cockpit and fly. I think that would be amazing. My favorite part is taking off... it's like a rollercoaster ride. Hehe. Which brings me to my next issue... why do people not acknowledge the pilot that is standing outside the cockpit? He's saying 'good bye' or 'thanks for flying with us' and everyone just walks past him like it's no big deal what he just did. I always say thank you... this man (or woman) just flew a HUGE bird across many many miles to bring you to your destination. Now, granted you paid for him to do that but he got you there safely which is more than all the money in the world (cheesy but true). Not just anyone can do that... so thank a pilot, gosh darn it. Maybe I should quit nursing school and become a pilot (I joke but that honestly sounds like fun). Ah a girl can dream. :) I have so many other little stories but I talk to myself on here and I already know the stories as I was there for all of them lol Plus, I am so tired and church is in the morning :) I missed it.P.S. My favorite new bags: https://www.bungalowco.com/c-30-tote-me.aspx So damn cute... I just have to figure out which color to get... I'm thinking the black and white or the pink. URGH so cute! I saw one today in person in Charlotte and almost went up to the woman and raved about her bag. *giggle* It is just so pretty. And different, which is my favorite part :)
Ok, I do not understand Facebook and the etiquette that goes along with it. Or perhaps lack thereof. I try to comment on most everyone's status once in a while or their photos and such. Maybe write someone a message or post a comment on their wall... just friendly things. Why do people feel like they do not have to do that in return, ever? Facebook is not a top priority for anyone, I don't think, but really, so many people comment on everyone else's photos, why can people not return the favor. It seems extremely dumb to be "put off" by this but it irks me. For gosh sakes, it takes 5 minutes to comment on someone's photos. It is not a 5 hour ordeal. Eh.. it's so stupid but it does bug me a little bit.Or if someone adds you as a friend and then they do not talk to you at all... what the heck is the point of that? So basically you just wanted to see what I look like since you last saw me and have no real interest in catching up? Uh.. unfriend. I am not someone that needs 800 friends to fulfill my life. FB for me is a private thing and I do not need someone I do not know snooping all over my photos and wall posts....SPEAKING of wall posts... I am SO appreciative of people who actually reply to your wall post on YOUR wall, rather than comment on your wall post. That is just extremely annoying and I said I'd never do it... now I am just being immature and doing it to those who do it to me. LOL I hate it! If I write you a note, are you going to turn over the card I sent you and rewrite your message on the back? Or are you going to send me a new card? It does not make sense to me. So if people reply to my wall comment on my wall, I will reply on their wall... if they reply to my comment on their wall, I will do the same. Some people probably don't care either way but I do. Sometimes I do not get the notifications that they replied and therefore I have no idea they've replied. FB really gets me in a foul mood sometimes. Seriously, treat others the way you want to be treated... even on Facebook. Now onto more serious matters... LOL I leave tomorrow. :( Boo and hooray. Boo because I do like it here... I like being on vacation, period. Not really having a care, going out to eat a lot, being with family you don't see often and so on. Hooray because I miss my doggies! It is so funny how similar having dogs is to having children (not that I know that yet) but what I would assume. Before I left, I thought 'I cannot WAIT to get a break from them, especially Mollie and her craziness'. But even later on Sunday after I arrived, I started really missing them :( Shelby threw up after my sister left for NC on Monday. I think she was scared and thought we left her. I can't wait to give her a hug! Poor baby. My sister's friend watched them for us and it was very nice of her to do so. I have asked my sister to ask her friend every day how they're doing. I think she got annoyed LOL The trip in itself was pretty relaxing and fun. Monday my sister arrived and after picking her up from the airport, we went to The Oceanic for lunch... it's not the best food and it's pretty expensive but it's a 'must' every time we come here... kind of like tradition. Afterwards, my younger cousin Kim and my uncle Mike had to go back to Raleigh, NC (where they live) because Kim had made the tennis team and she had her first practice. It stunk because we rarely see her and she was only here for a day but we were glad she decided to go back because it's a priority. We went to Red Robin for dinner where they sang Happy Birthday to my dad and to my cousin Carly. Tuesday we spent a lot of the day at the beach. I worked on my tan. LOL We made homemade pizzas for lunch and I of course had Chick Fil A... like every day.... seriously. I had to go to a different CFA today for breakfast because I was afraid they'd start to recognize me. I also got a Henna tattoo of butterflies flying up my foot. It's cute! It'll probably be gone soon though. My cousin's "friend" Mark came down and stayed with them for the rest of the time they were there. He's very nice and I alwats welcome a fellow Republican. :) I had gotten a cake for my dad for his bday at Harris Teeter (love that store!) and bought sparkler candles.. you know, the kind that never go out until you basically pour a bucket of water over them? ;-) We lit the candles outside on the back deck to try and surprise my dad but I'm pretty sure I walked through a spider web (AHHH), it was SO hot and humid even at 9pm at night and the candles, keep in mind, were sparklers so they sparks were going all over the place. It was a miracle I did not drop the cake, which was delicious by the way! Later on that night we played Apples to Apples and man was it HILARIOUS. We had such a blast and I haven't laughed that long in a while... laughing until you cry is the BEST. :)Wednesday we got up early and went fishing on a boat. I caught 5 fish! Unreal. Me, fishing. LOL I had a lot of fun actually and am glad we did it. Afterwards, we went to Bluewater for lunch... another traditional restaurant we usually hit while here in WB. Not the best food but a local joint. My cousins and aunt were going to leave Wed to get back to Raleigh as my cousins all start school this coming week (2 in college) but decided to stay and leave early Thursday morning. It started to pour in the afternoon so we hung around inside and rested from our early morning fishing extravaganza. Since they all went to Motts to get fresh fish for dinner (and I don't eat fish), I went to Chick Fil A (giggle) and got my dinner. It was delish! Since it was their last night there, we stayed later and the cousins played Scattegories and Apples to Apples again. Good good times. We also too a lot of candid photos. Thursday we again stayed in as it was raining all day. It sucked really. We did have a seagull hit one of the windows on the beach house and took him to an animal clinic. He went home with the vet to be observed and unfortunately had to be put to sleep because of his head injuries. :( It is so sad.. and I know, it's just a seagull but he was a cute lil' guy. RIP little man. After all of that excitement, we didn't do much else... we had some more homemade pizzas for dinner and tried to clean out some of the food in the fridge so we don't end up having to throw much away when we all leave.Today was also a boring day because of the weather... but it was extremely sucky because we were supposed to go parasailing. Because it was storming, they called and canceled. I was disappointed but what can you do? Hopefully next time. I went and got CFA for breakfast and have been downing the sweet tea down here like it's going out of style. I luuuuurve sweet tea. YUM. I think it's wearing on me though as I am always tired... probably because of the crazy amount of sugar that is in it. We went to drop my sister off at the airport but because her plane was oversold, she volunteered to give up her seat in exchange for a $250 voucher and she will now leave at 7am tomorrow morning... not too shabby, especially since she would have gotten to Chicago close to midnight... what's a few more hours? We turned around and picked her up and then went to 'Sticky Fingers' for dinner. It was delicious. Now here I am... I'll be all by myself soon... my family leaves bright and early around 4:30am tomorrow morning... they'll drop my sister off at ILM at around 5am and then leave from there to go home to Chicago. 16 hours straight through.. no thank you ma'am! Tomorrow I'll pack all of my stuff, shower and get to the airport myself... however I have a feeling I'll be back here tomorrow night because my plane is oversold as well and you bet your butt I'll be volunteering my seat for a voucher! I fly a lot and that would sooo come in handy! But I wish they could call you and ask you before you go through the trouble of getting to the airport, going through security etc. What a pain. We shall see. I kind of hope it doesn't happen because I do want to go home. I need that extra day (Sunday) to get laundry done. I'm almost thinking of doing it tomorrow but most of my stuff needs to hang dry and I won't put it in my suitcase wet (bleh!).Whew, ok this post is long enough. I had a lot to say! Anywho, until next time! Bye NC! :( I'll miss you South! ;-)
I've made it to North Carolina in one piece (well minus my one-piece bathing suit that I ordered for this trip but did not come in time. UGH). My flights today were completely uneventful (hopefully the same will occur on the way home as well!) and I even landed about 20 min early here in Wilmington. Of course, being the Chick Fil A addict that I am, I wanted some for lunch so we made our way to the closest one... but stupid me forgot it's closed on Sunday's (Bless them). GAAAAH I was so disappointed. There's always tomorrow... and Tuesday... and Wednesday... and Thursday... etc. *giggle* We got to the house and I unpacked. Then we all went to the beach, which was fun yet not fun all at the same time. We stayed there for a good 2 hours... I read my book and tried to soak up some Vit D and also get some color to my pale skin. We were going to go out, just the cousins, to dinner while my aunt and uncle, mom and dad stayed back to eat. But that didn't happen... of course after I had showered and gotten ready. We instead stayed in and made the biggest bowl of orzo pasta I have ever seen, Italian sausage sandwiches with peppers, scallops and a salad. It was good. :) Minus the scallops.. I don't eat those. ;-)Tomorrow I think we're going to get the jet ski's out and play with those for a bit, which is always a blast. Unfortunately my one cousin will be leaving tomorrow afternoon and will not be back. :( She's going back to Raleigh as she has tennis practice. It stinks. Then the rest of my cousins and my aunt will leave Thursday, my sister leaves Friday and I leave late Saturday while my parents and brother will leave early Sat morning. I think I'll have to take a Beach Taxi to the airport... not too thrilled with that and kind of wishing I could switch my flight to Friday which I may look into. It's silly to sit here all day on Saturday when I could be home doing something. I feel like I have so much to do when I get back, it'd probably help a bit and I'd get a jump start on laundry! Oh well. The weather here is hot but it was bearable today. I hope it continues to stay that way as the humidity is always awful and hot enough, even if it's 70*. We shall see! But for now, it is 12:30am (really 11:30pm my time) and I got up at 4:15am this morning to catch my 7:40am flight. I am pooped. Time for bed.
Vacation time, tomorrow! I must admit, I am a bit nervous about flying. I just read about an air collision with a tour helicopter and a small plane over the Hudson River. And then the whole US Airways thing landing in the Hudson... I'm just glad I'm not flying over the Hudson. Anyway, I leave early tomorrow and have to be at the airport by 6am. UGH. That is darn early but I do want to have at least half a day tomorrow in NC. I'll get there a little after noon after my layover in Charlotte. I have not even started packing. I cannot get motivated. I just finished laundry and now have a bunch of stuff to fold, something I just love to do. HA! I do think I am going to put a tracking device on my socks so I can locate them when they do not come out of the dryer. There has GOT to be a land where it's just filled with socks because I know I'm not the only one with this problem. On another topic, my bathing suit better come today. The cover up (that I am no longer keeping) arrived 2 days ago but my swim suit is MIA. I ordered both the same day from the same place July 30th. Silly me, thought I'd have plenty of time for it to be shipped normally. I even looked on the tracking email I was sent when it was shipped and well, I don't really understand it. LOL It's coming from USPS and it confused me. So we'll just pray it shows up with today's mail. If not, I can wear my old one but I'd rather bring 2.
I got my hair cut yesterday and was a little peeved at the stylist who put probably 10 lbs of product in my hair. I purposely went around 11am so they could style it and dry it for me so I could just go to work and not worry about drying my hair (something I hate!) I had to come home and rewash it because it looked (and felt) awful. Oh well, it was $20, what can I say? I do love the cut though. I got about an inch off (nothing too drastic) but more layers. It's cute :) Now I'm off to get my eyebrows (and womanstache) threaded. I almost forgot about that and it would have bugged the crap out of me every time I looked in the mirror. Totally not wearing mascara though because I tear up like a baby. Ok so I'll go do that and then come home and fold/pack... yeah... ;-)
I also just want to admit that Jeff, from Big Brother, is my new boyfriend. He is the most sane person I've ever seen on that show, and I've watched it from the beginning through 10 seasons. He's also adorable, very sweet BUT he smokes. Total turn off. I don't know if he's doing it from all of the stress or if he's usually a smoker... but maybe I can get him to stop. Would sending him a message on Facebook be too forward? LOL ;-)
It's been awhile! I had such a blast in Wisconsin visiting family. I went tubing, which was HUGE for me. I am so not an adventurous daredevil to do that, much less SWIM in anything but a chlorinated pool. Hehe. I am glad to say no big sturgeon ate me. I survived and had so much fun. It was so nice to see my grandparents and my cousins. It had been a long time and Door County is beautiful. Maybe I'll go up in the fall when the leaves start to change. We'll see.Meanwhile, I am starting to plan for NC. I leave on Sunday at 7:40am. Good Lord, that is early. Who decided THAT?! ;-) I figure I should try to get to NC earlier on Sunday rather than later so I can have at least half a day. We've had such a mild summer (and I LOVE that) that my usual jeans and such have been totally fine to wear. So now I'm on the mad hunt to find some more summer-appropriate clothes since the humidity will be so awful. *BLEH* I need a hair cut desperately, the cost of any clothes/shoes I buy AND I just bought a new camera today *sigh*. I jinxed myself on that one. In June, I had started researching cameras to try and be smart about buying another one... of course sticking with Canon. At that point, nothing was really 'wrong' with my camera, per say, but the photos come out more grainy than usual. So I decided to wait for a bit... well now my camera will switch from the 'camera' mode to 'video' mode by itself. That makes for a problem when you try to take a photo of something and it starts recording a video. UGH. It's also 5 years old and that's ancient in the technology industry, no? So that should be here by Thursday thanks to 2 day shipping and $11.99 later. Ugh. But I want it for my trip. Hopefully my bathing suit will be here before I leave as well. That would be completely pointless for it to arrive the day after I leave. LOL I'd be returning that sucker. Hehe.Ok so more of a serious note... why is it that I can try so hard to look nice and skinny people give it 5 minutes, a brush through their hair and they look ten times better than I do? Why is it so easy for them to look cute and I have to spend so much time trying on different outfits to see which one makes me look decent that day. This is obviously a complete pity post but what can I say, no one reads this anyway and it's my blog. :) I like to look at it as sitting in front of a mirror, talking to myself. LOL Anyway, it just irritates me. And then they have the nerve to complain that they look 'awful'. What the hell ever. Yes, I feel so incredibly bad for you that the smallest "fat roll" (which is really just skin on you and not fat) folds slightly when you sit down. Meanwhile, I have to suck it in like I'm taking the biggest deep breath EVER, just so my rolls don't overtake the table I'm sitting at. Please continue to complain about the fact that you just cannot ever find a size 2. My sympathy goes out to you. Meanwhile I am trying to white out the 1 in front of the 4 in my pants... if I can even find a size 14 anymore. You know, some stores only sell up to size 8. That's ok though... that usually brightens up my day even more and my self-esteem-o-meter maxes out like crazy. Like when you walk into one of those stores and you don't realize the sizes are 00 to 8 and the gay guy at the register looks at you like 'Oh girl please, Lane Bryant is down the way and I hear they're giving out coupons." Ugh. And cue 'walk of shame'. Ok honestly? I understand even the skinniest of people have body issues. I may not be able to understand why because they have what every woman wants (whether women admit it or not). And it's really not fair of me to say it's ok for me to complain about my body and it's not ok for skinny people to. But have you ever heard of a skinny girl who would 'give just about anything' to be fat? Uh.. no. It's just frustrating when you try your damndest to look nice and then you get to wherever you're going and your skinny friend looks super cute in her outfit and there you are, trying to realign your Spanx under your pants in a discreet way and cursing your new 'full coverage' bra. Um, removes back fat? How? By squeezing the hell out of your back, causing all oxygen to your fat tissue to cease? THAT I believe. That felt really good. No offense to the skinny women out there. I really just want to have what you have. ;-)
So glad I am going out of town for a few days. I need it. I need to clear my mind. I also need to be away from work for a bit as I've been there every day for basically the past week. It's not so much the work as it is the people. I love mostly everyone that I work with but sometimes you can only take so much of people's attitude or laziness.
